Finally got around to putting my speedo on my 250R. Used a 250sx install kit: cable was too short so I used one for a TRX300; speedo mount bracket didn't fit quite right so I had to drill another hole above the original one. I think it came out good. The 250sx kit even had the same cable loop guide that mount to the bottom triple.

Now my question: Does anyone have an orginal Hondaline 250r kit for an 85-86? I'm wondering how they hooked up the speedo lights. I'm guessing they included an extra piece of wiring harness that fit into the orginal connector in front of the right side radiator. i'll have to splice into that somehow I guess.

Nice work. I can't tell you much about the 250R wiring but I can tell you it hooks up to the taillight area...

... go back to this tread and go to the second page: http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=34648

EDIT: What did you do with the SX cable? My dad needs a cable for his 200E. It needs to be 28" long.

Check out the thread posted by 350XinNY(Bruce). He got a 250R speedo kit new in the package with instructions and everything from the local Honda dealer over here where I live...just do a search for the thread.

Yep, read that thread about 10 mins. after I posted this. Thanks!
SX cable: I'm going to keep it as a spare for my 200S, it's kinda gnarly after 21 years of service.

You'll have to excuse the dirt, (gasp!) my 350X is 3 hrs away at my Dad's house and I just had to ride. I'm going to have to get some lower profile handlebars, the stock bars are just way too high for aggresive riding.

nice short track kit, I wish mine looked as good, but again I ride mx with it and wouldn't want to ruin rare parts, the shrouds I'm using now are cracked in several places. I'll replace it when the shroud is totally broken.

Dammit!

Where'd you get that seat? I have an '85 seat on the way that I want to get recovered in red exactly like that. Logo and everything.

Thats a CEET cover that I got off ebay a few years ago, they still show up from time to time. You can get a red one from Hi-Flite too, it'll cost you a little more.

You have to get the retro CEET covers for them to say ATC on them. I talked to them on Friday. Said that Honda wanted $10 a cover to use ATC on it. I didn't question him....said the new ones are all just blank. Hi-Flite does put ATC or 250X or 250R etc on the side, but their logo on the back.

I didn't question CEET on the phone cause I sent him a bunch of ATC tank covers and Honda tank decals to print on them! They are suppose to start on them this week... however, I've heard that a couple times already!
