well i just ordered my 34mm flatslide carb and 86r reed cage for the r. i am also going to put me a new pipe and silencer on. now my question is were should i start my jetting. jetting has always kicked my butt. so all info you can give will help. i was going to get a dial a jet, but i am not sure how well this concaction is going to work. i know my jet is going to be lower then normal on the air cooled r. so i dont know if the dial a jet will accomplish this.

Just start with the stock jet. Should be around 145-150 ( I think ) I'm pretty sure I'm running a 150 in mine now, but the warmer it is, the less jet you need. Your carb probably has a 145 in it, and you'll end up real close to that, when your finished. Hard to say in Texas. That's quite a bit different climate from here in Ohio.

well every used carb i looked at is up north so i know whatever it is jetted at will definetly be wrong. the carb is off an 86R. if i remeber right i am going to haveeto do some airbox modifications but i do not think they are that severe.

I put a dial-a-jet on mine and it has worked great....the only problem with her know is a lack of brakes. I too, would start at stock jet settings and work from there.
