Well I said I wasnt going to do it, but being unemployed sure gets boring, so I started doing it anyhow...this is my sons 82 70, I at first wanted to do a factory correct retoration but decided against it after watching him run into a few things (he is 3). So now I have decided to make it look red, white and blue. the forks are red, the hubs and seat cover will be blue and the tank will be white going into white flames on the front of the seat cover. To sorta add to the r, w,b theme I will put the r,w,b Honda wings on the tank. I think it will look wild! any how, this is how far I have gotten in 2 days. Everything was either sanded to bare metal or buffed to bare metal with a cordless drill and a small buffing wheel. Then it was wiped down with thinner, primed, sanded, primed again and painted with automotive paint and baked under heat lamps. here it is (http://photobucket.com/albums/v105/bethrcno/?action=view&current=70-5.jpg)

heh I dont think he will ruin it..besides I have 3 more in the shed out back, waiting to be put together, so I might save that one and build another for him to ride...this one will be for "dad" lol

nice work, and YOUR unemployed, you have a great knack for detail.

I just got my daughters rig, looks the same as yours running....need to find that black ""Honda" front plate you have on the front, once I get all the pieces together, then the painting starts...muhhahahaaa...

really nice job, wish I had the shop to do that kind of work.

Gunslinger.
I think I only have a nack for detail because I have ALL day staying home waiting for the phone to ring! hehe I think I have one of those number plates, I tossed it aside for this one that has less scratches on it...dunno what shape its in but I can get a few pics if ya like, pm me with what parts ya need, I have everything to build 2 more minus a carb an fenders. ..
As ar as a shop..my home is 9 ft off the ground on pilings, cemented underneath, my "table" is an old metal door I got from a job I done at the local hospital, put it on sawhorses and now i have a nice metal table to weld, paint, grind , beat on whatever...hehe its cheap but it works, Dave A
