Hello guys and gals,

This is my first post here so please forgive me if I posted in the wrong forum. I just purchased a little YT60 for my 8-year old step-son and the carb has been tinkered with by the previous owner. The Z runs but kind of intermittently. Can someone please advise me of the proper procedure to set the throttle screw and the two air screws. Please keep in mind that this is a YT60L 59cc unit with automatic clutch and shaft drive. Real tiny...too small for dear ol' dad to ride.( I am secretly having an affair with a local Yamaha dealer looking at a new 660R...shhhhh...don't tell).

Any pertinent input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

chewbacca :D

OK...so there are no 1984 Tri-Z owners in this forum? Surely there are a few of you who can offer some help on this carb adjustment. I have ordered a manual but don't expect it for a week or so. As soon as I get the manual and can successfully adjust this carb I will post my procedure here for all.

Thanks :p

I can't remember if the specs reference guide on the mainpage has anything for the zinger or not, but you can try taking a look and see. www.3wheelerworld.com and then click on the service manuals, and then click on the bottom ATC specs reference guide. It might be just Honda's but I can't remember for sure.

You should get a fullsize Tri-Z instead of a Raptor...cheaper and faster too :naughty:

Thanks HondaATC! The search did not turn up the info I was looking for on the YT60 Mikuni carb but there was some interesting info there within those pages. What size full-size Tri Z should I look for? I thought Yamahamer only made the Tri-Z in 1984 and went to the Tri-Moto in 1985. I am in fact a little green in the Trike arena and anticipate a wonderful and fun learning experience. Thanks again for your input!!

The Tri-Z 250, aka YTZ250(N,S) is a 250cc 2 stroke full size racing trike from Yamaha made 1985-1986. You can find a whole bunch of pictures, Brochures, and some other specs on the main page. It would match the Zinger perfectly as well. I've got an 85 Tri-Z (86 pictured above) and really like it alot. Very cool machine.
