so i am getting a 300r kit for the 84 r i am getting. all have been paid for and will start arriving soon.
as of right now i will assume all internal engine parts are stock.
i am wondering what else i should add to help the 300 kit. should i put in better flowing reeds? i know it has an aftermarket pipe and i need to get a silencer for it still. what about the stock 30mm carb?

i am not looking for all out race performance but by the same token if i am investing in the 300 kit i want to make sure i am not bottling it up.

I bought a motor off ebay that had the Hondaline 300R kit on it..... it came with a 85R carb on it. Think its a 34mm? I'm planning on putting a DG pipe/silencer on it. My other air box that had slots cut in it for more breathing (w/UNI filter) I might even change the front of the 82R for a 83/84R. I can only imagine what it will be like from my current fat tire 82R!

do you think the bigger carb is necessary for the 300 kit ?

it isnt neccesary but i recomend it. use the carbs and reeds off of an 85, 86 R and then you will feel that 300 kit nicely.

think a 38mm mikuni will be good?

think a 38mm mikuni will be good?
that will work nicely, a flat slide 38mm would be killer

so i've got
the 300r kit
2 new 20x11x9 holeshots on douglass .190's
original malcom smith clutch still in package from 84
bigger plastic tank
38mm mikuni carb
new front tire.

still need a silencer and front caliper

what about reeds? i have seen a brand on ebay that claims they flow much better than power reeds and tons better then stock. i forget the name but i have never heard of it. as for the vs. stock comparison they also don't state what year stock reeds. i am assuming the reed cage was different from 81-86

what else should i be after?
