First let me start off by saying Hi to everybody. I have an 83 200x that has been sitting around for about 10-12 years. about a year ago i decided i would try to get it going so i took the top end apart and cleaned up the valves, put in new rings and cleaned up the test of the engine. The small pin on the camshaft was broken off so that was drilled out and a new one put in. well after getting it all back togehter it has no spark. me and my dad couldnt figure it out so i took it to a friend whos neighbour has a couple old trikes and he checked a couple things out on it and couldnt get spark either, after that we gave up and now its sitting in a shed. The other day i got the urge to get this thing running agian so i am wondering if anybody could help me to get spark on this old baby :beer

Welcome to the boards. I have the same problem with my 200x. I was told by many people on this board to check the stator out. The primary coil in there usually goes bad. Also make sure all your connections are cleaned, connected and grounded properly. Do a search of the forums...you will find alot of good info about spark problems. That coil can be bought cheap at www.hyperparts.com.

ok thanks, where should i start for trouble shooting on like wires and stuff? Also does anybody have wiring/parts diagrams and resistance charts for this thing? And what parts such as cdis, stators off other bikes would work and what models. we currently have an 82 200m sitting around and a 77 xl175 that i can rob many parts off of, Which ones would work on it, thanks

There are wiring diagrams for you on 3WW main page. I think all honda 200cc parts can be switched around.
