I would REALLY like to install a speedo with odometer on my 250es, Is ther any place to buy one still? What about some type of universal one that runs off the front wheel or something? Could one off some type of other cycle or quad work?

I know there's always ebay once in a great while but I hoped that wasnt my only chance.

Hey, welcome to the club haha j/k. I just recently installed a speedo on my big red. You can use any speedo head pretty much, depending if you want it in mph or km/h. The difficult part is finding the speedo cable and gearbox for your specific bike. The best place to get most of everything is ebay. They pop up on there from time to time. Do a search on here and you will find some more info. and part #'s on speedo stuff.

Like Pat said eBay is your best chance, that is unless someone found a gearbox that will work from a road bike with the same size tire and hasn't told us yet. The other option is to rig up a bicycle one.

What about one off a quad that has the same size tires? I was thinking that would be the closest conversion.

That probably wouldn't work, the speedo gearbox has to be the right size for your front axle and all, not sure how they mount on a quad. Your best bet is to get the one made for your atc.

You can get the "generic" speedo for atv's at your local honda shop(but it wont say ATC on it). It will work fine with your big red but the problem is finding the mounting kit and the part that mounts to your wheel. I have a complete unit I got awhile back and still havent installed it.

The only problem is the gearbox, cuz the displays are still available and any cable the right lenth off a dirt bike will work.
