Well I got most of the trike back together today (other than rear end) and decided to fire it up so I could hear how my new fmf system sounded. When I did this with the motor in neutral the sproket just spins even with the clutch lever pulled in. With the machine turned off with the transmission in gear and the clutch lever pulled in I cannot spin the drive spoket with my hand, feels like its locked in place (like the clutch isn't even pulled in). I just installed a new OEM clutch cable and have tried adjusting it way out but it feels like its not engaging the cluch enough to let the sproket spin. Before I brought the trike in for its resto it was fine. Should I be worried?

I wouldn't be worried, did you take the slack out of the cable down at the bottom where it attaches to the motor? The top adjustment is just for fine tuning the clutch adjustment. I have mine set up with about a 1/4 inch of freeplay at the lever.

Yah I have both about adjusted to the max. Shouldn't I be able to spin the drive sproket by hand with the clutch pulled in when the motor is off and in gear?

I just tried my trx and it does the same thing, feels like theres no clutch there, I'm sure its normal. I think you will be fine as long as you have your cable adjusted right. You can't really adjust that until you get it running anyway with a chain on it so you can feel when it starts to pull.

250r's use a wet clutch system so if your bike has been apart for a while and has not been running through the gears chances are the clutch discs just dried up a little. once you get it running agian it should relubercate itself and the problem should go away

same thing happed to my 250r when i first bought it because the previous owner had drained all the fluids but once i put new oil in it gradualy when away on its own
