If you're running stock compression you don't need to worry about race fuel. It's an ddiction though. You'll end up there eventually. ;)

Get wrid of your air box. Change the pipe. No silencer? Maybe change the sprockets. Smaller rear tires.

no air box, clean up your ports, change sprockets, but BIGGER tires on to go faster...um thats about it, unless you wanna start spending money.

The most basic mods that will get you the most noticable gains are a good performance pipe/silencer and an aftermarket air filter. Let's the engine breathe much better and makes a very nice power gain. Just remember you have to re-jet the carb when you do either of those.
Pipes can be kind of expensive but you might find a deal on a used one in the classifieds here or on ebay.

REMEMBER:
For every neat sticker you put on you gain 1.5 HP. For every sticker you put on that is of a company you use a part from, it adds 2 HP. If you have stickers on it that are from there era of your ride (i.e. like one that is either actually from the 70s/80s, or is a reproduction one) you gain 2.5 HP1 :naughty: :naughty: :p

Looks like im gaining about 5 HP! lol Trikezilla
I would ras86 start by a air filter and pipe, like dammit said they can get pricey.

ras86, take it easy man, I know you just read it and tried something out. I just found it really funny and I apolgize if I offended you. I promise you though that shaving plugs will not help you. A clean properly gapped plug is your best bet.
