Here's the Problem:
When I kick start it the motor it "kicks me back" through the kick starter!! Its acting like the spark is getting to the plug early and forcing the motor to spin backwards(the stator and flywheel are brand new rickey stator).

Here's the fix:
I started to adjust the stator plate, turning it a little at a time in the same direction that the motor spins(retarding the spark). It took a lot of time and work as every time I put it back together and it didn't work I had to take the flywheel off again a move the stator plate a little more and it all payed off. I have yet to have it happen again and went ridding down to OK little sahara for 6 days and never had a problem with it and did not notice any power lost!!

Hope that this helps any and all who have "always" had this problem with their early T-3's. :beer

I did that with a 89 yz250 i was trading for a 350x. The stator was bad so i bought a new one, put it all together. After about an hour of kicking it started, so i put it in gear, let out the clutch and the gastank hit my Ba11s. Switched the wires around going into the stator and it ran perfectly.

Rex, i don't have any pics of it. Someone asked me to take a pic of the steering stabilizer for them this weekend but i completely forgot. I won't be back home untill the end of this semester (May 13ish) so i'll try and get some then. It really isn't anything to look at though.
