Ok it was sweet out so I decided to put the DG Exhaust on the 84-85 Tecate. The first thing I notice is that there are only Two Exhaust Spring Loops on the Pipe not Three. Then I notice Two Gasket Grooves instead of one. And Last when I put her up to see how she would fit I noticed that the End pipe after the Chamber has more angle to it than Stock and therefor Hit my Air Box and Im sure the Rear Fender if it was on. And the Silencer was about an inch from the frame. I think I can Bend the Mounting Tab on the Pipe a bit to get it to come closer I hope. Ive heard about this with DG but a smoe like me with no shop cant make brackets and crap. Any ideas that work let me know, thanks. Check the picsfor an idea on what im saying.

My DG pipe has 3 spring loops.....weird! But mine also has 2 gasket grooves so I just ordered two gaskets from Kaw. and it seems to work fine that way! It all seems to fit fine. Are you sure that you have it put all of the way on correct?? I have to play with mine a little to get it on right! Just a thought. Maybe you can send it back and get a different one??

The only problem I had with my DG was after I got it back from being chromed the silencer wouldn't go on so I had to do a little sanding down and then some "elbow grease" and it fit fine.

I had her in all the way and mounted. It just hits the Airbox and just doesnt seem to fit right at all after there. I guess I will call them, and see whats going on. I would like 3 Exhaust Spring Loops but this one didnt come with 3. I hope they help me but I doubt it.

Maybe they sent you an '86/7 by mistake.

86/87 Pipe is routed up the opposite side of the Tecate than the 84/85.

My 84 had a DG pipe. And a melted spot on the airbox where the pipe was too close, included at no extra charge!
