I have just put together an 86 250R and I noticed that the forks have "Forks by Frank" on them. I went to adjust them to the machine groove and noticed there is no machine groove and the "Forks by Frank" either acid etched or laser etched inot the sides near the tripple clamps.

If anybody has any info on these please let me know

They make replacement and new fork tubes for aftermarket motorcycle suspensions. As far as I know you can still get them from him... I used to work at a harley shop and all of the new fork tubes we ever got were from "Forks by Frank" I think I may be able to come up with a product list or even a contact number for them... I havent tryed to look them up on the net. HH

Actually dude sounds like you got some killer custom forks! They are out of ILL and they do all sorts of custom forks from bikes, quads and even trikes. I would be interested in seeing them compared to stock ones to see the difference. When I used to road race motorcycles, my buddies got stuff done from him for their CBR's. Here is his info:
