Alot of elbow grease yes but when its for rare bikes like these its even worth it more. The nice thing about the tigers is that they are simple beasts. I had two areas in my shop ---one for parts for the frame up tectate restore and one for the tiger restore. The Tiger doesnt have all that extraneous stuff. The pile of parts is much smaller to restore for the TIGER. Heres what I got done with the tiger yesterday.

Looks great Orangecounty I'm hoping to have mine up and running soon have all the new bearings x3. have all motor parts ordered x5. have shrouds about ready for paint. have tanks almost ready for paint. next will make my mold for fenders and rear plastics I have the sheet plastic now just need to make molds with having my yamahauler down tranny noise. and working on my sons 200x soon , and helping get his zilla back up and running. it does not a lot of time left to work on tigers but I will have all three at trike fest just might be short plastic

That mold is for the radiator scoop? I had a guy email me saying he had a whole bunch of parts and some of the original molds. I asked for pictures and he said he would get some, never heard back from him...

Some parts that were not made in house by tiger you can get from the companies that made them 20 years ago. Brakes, forks, rotax engine parts, bearings (see the tiger page to see exactly which companies made what) . The other stuff you need to find from another tiger or have fabricated/copied/machined/ or molded from an existing tiger!!! Luckily everything on mine is original except a front caliper mount which I am having copied and machined from an existing tiger and the front axle. Thats only a bolt.

To answer your question- One bad arse piece of flat track racing history.

Check out the TIGER page on this site for the history.

Think If I call the number they have a brand new TIGER in each of the sizes they never sold as well as a stockpile of factory plastics and a couple of engines SLAP!!!
My girlfriend slapped me up the side of my head --said i was sleep walking dreaming & mumbling something ----What was I saying?????

I can't believe that they put trail pros on the back of that 500. Those are one of the worst tires ever. Cool article, I can't believe that they called it cobby.

Bayou 3 Wheeling was owned by Terry Lysion back in the 80's He now works for Mac Tools and no longer has any Tigers or parts for Tigers. The 200 With the Bayou 3 wheeling sticker a tiger 80 and a Tiger 250 were all found thanks to him.

White plastics on a 87, or is is actually a 88? Get a pic or two of that one if ya get a chance.

Super nice Tiger collection ya got there....few more and ya got em all! Better hurry up and find em, I know there is "ANOTHER" attempting to have the whole tiger Lineup! ;)

Hey Orange, how did you get the color choice figured out? Did you have a color code, or did the painter just custom mix from "eyeballing" the stocker stuff? Looks awesome so far, any updates?

04-24-2005, 08:53 AM
yes that is an actual '88 hiding back there.i bought it at the end of last summer.it is all original right down to the tires.still has the key and all working lights.the only thing it was missing is the plastic cover for the radiator.if you know where i can get one i would appreciate it.i also have a new front fender and hood for it.someone went crazy with gray primer on the frame though.i am trying to get the whole collection, thats why i was asking you before about a 500.if you ever decide to get rid of 1,let me know.

Here is my Tiger. It runs great, but the radiator is shot. I am having a new one built. It should be ready by the end of the week. I still need a rad shroud tho. How about someone with a mold make me one? Gimme a shout with the price.

Goto KawieRiders (http://www.kawieriders.com/forums/index.php?act=idx) and contact Magoo, King of Kawis or Dave Roberts for a cover, they should be able to hook you up. :w00t: BTW, don't unload that front fender without giving me a shot at it :naughty: , and I got you down as an interested party for the spare 500 and stuff! ;)
