Ok I've finally tore into the top end of my 175 Tri-Moto. It looks like I don't need to bore it out. I tried to feel any scatches in the cylinder with my fingernail and it's pretty smooth. Looks like all it needs in a hone. The piston is the original(no number stamped on top) and looks pretty scratched up. Now should I go ahead and replace the piston, or just run the old one with new rings? I read somewhere that you should replace pistons anyways after so many hours. I'm about to make an order to Hyperparts and like to know if there is anything else I need before I order. Yes i know i need the gaskets.

Thanks in advance.

why dont you do it right, and have the cylinder measure with a mike ... just .004" out of round .. or out of bore and you arent getting full potential out of that engine...
Then once you make sure the cylinder is still in spec, order a new piston rings etc..

personally I would punch it out a little, these trimotos seem to have soft cylinders
