Im buyin a 1984 200x that is currently sittin and rusting in sum guys yard but this guy rebuilds and sells 3 wheelers and stuff so im gunna have him restore it for me,now I will be giving him my 1983 200E bigred (with a fresh top end but has a craked case and has no font brake lever and its gunna need new brake lines) Everything else it pretty good tho minus a few scrathes and small things. Also I will be giving aboput 450-to 500 cash now what I want to kno is what should I expect out of this 3 wheeler will it be a rollin pile or will it be a decent machine I can take out into the woods and beat and depend on?? Also what would u guys expect out of the deal? Im not to worried about the looks of it yet but I do know plastics are gunna have to be orderd for it (it doesnt have any)But is there any things I can check to make sure that the engine and engine componets or in perfect working order?? besides riding it around like maybe test the clutch/bearings? lol any info would be great o yea and thank you for reading my lanthy letter here lol if u have any responses e mail me at www.Chris17388@aol.com thank you

Maybe its just me but I would expect a good running machine for that type of money. I have purchased nice 84 X's for $500 and they run great, little tune-up and you have a dependable machine. The X is awsome! I ride that more than either of my 250R's. Just fun to ride, power, manual, good suspension. Check the obvious, usually you can tell if new gaskets are installed, oil is leaking somewhere, or there are unusual engine noises. Due to the age its hard to guarentee anything unless rebuilt from the ground up. Make sure the clutch isn't slipping, no loud valve knocking, no smoke or oil coming out of the exhaust.
Good Luck,

The older 200x will feel a lot more nimble than a big red. My 83 is a good ride. It is a great learner bike. Lots of fun to ride. I like the 86-87 better though. They seem to fit me better. I may be biased tho, my first sport atc was 86 200x.
P.S. one of my 83's did shell 3rd gear.
