Dammit or anyone else that knows how to use photo shop....can you make my tri Z in the picture the following colors:
Blue (wiht blue seat, blue tank cap, blue fork boots and blue radiator shrouds)
Black (white fenders just make the red parts black)
Gray (make the red parts grey)
Thanks!! Post the pics here!
I noticed that the 88 banshee was blue and white and thought if an 88 Z was produced it would be the same color. Just dreaming...

Do you have a sample of the colors you want? Or do you not need it that specific?
Darius1502

No not specific. I just want to see differnet colors on it.

Heres a quick job on the stuff I understood.. I dont know what you mean when you say "make the red parts black" and then you say "make the red parts grey".. What exactly do you want colored differently? (and what color). Once you give me some good details on what you want I will clean it up and do everything.

That looks great. I want to see what it will look like in 3 color schemes:
blue,
black
grey.
There should be 3 pictures...one with the Z blue and white, one with it black and white and the last grey and white.
I was just considering a Z project...

Thats a great color scheme dammit!! Good job man. I would not do that to my Z...but if I get another 86 I would do it.
I had an idea like that for quite a while. You just confirmed my suspicious....very nice color scheme.
Thanks man...hOpe it did not take you too much time!!

Dammit....Awesome job.
Can you do me another favor and make few adjustments so I can see the dream Z was I trying to build?
Ok...here goes:
1) Make the fork boots a lighter gray (like this color):
http://static.summitracing.com/global/images/prod/large/exp-12126.jpg
2) Make the Seat black and grey (like this): http://i18.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/b5/00/36_1_b.JPG
3) Leave the headlight black
4) Make the frame black near the radiator shrouds and airbox cap...then fade it into white right where the fenders start and where the airbox cap ends
5) Put the gold rims back on
6) Make the 'Z' on the Tri Z logo on the fenders...gold.
7) Make the rear grab bar gold.
Thats my dream Z color...thanks for making it a reality!!

My 1986 R has a manufacture date of June 1985. That's very common dude. Most model years are produced the year before they are sold.
Edit: and EVERY 1985 1/2 I have ever seen in my life was black and red with polished wheels.
Edit 2: Is it a 6 speed? If it is then at the very very least it's a 1986 motor in a 1985 chassis that someone changed the plastics on. Everything prior to 1986 was 5 speed.

03-28-2005, 10:15 PM
6 speed, the bigger fork diameter, its all 86 stuff, but the VIN number says 9/85
so, i will just call it an 86 from now on ;)

Dammit our R's could be sisters!!
I'll put my vin up here one of these days....they could both have been on the assembly line together!!

It is without a doubt a 1986 if it has all that stuff. Be happy. The VIN is just telling you when it was built.

Who here thinks the black and white Z is the finest looking machine they have ever seen?
In one word: AWESOME....now if it only existed!
Dammit!
03-31-2005, 10:09 PM
It would be easy to do. Paint the frame and mix and match the plastics from a 85 1/2 and 86 and you're done.
Darius1502
03-31-2005, 10:50 PM
I know...very very cool idea. The silver rims are easy too: YZF rear rims and tires, 85 front rim.
Awesome...maybe one day long after I solve the troubles with this Z...I'll want another...right now...I like R's...ha ha!!

That thing is just sick...
You really need a beater though. You'll learn more from having a trike you can beat on relentlessly. The more often you break it, the more you have to fix it, the more you learn. :D
Darius1502
04-01-2005, 12:45 AM
The more often you ride it the more often you fix it. Yeah I know....i rode that R once and probably will ride it only 2 times per years.
I do need a beater...you are right.

The R is nice and I love it.
I think I see something wrong with it though. However if I'm remembering right you've replaced some stuff since these photos. Did you get a "STRAIGHT" swinger skid plate for it? :p
Like its ever gonna hit anything again...
Darius1502
04-01-2005, 04:30 PM
I did change some stuff. The brake line was faded yellow so I got a new one.
Other than that I don't care anymore. Its a mint as I can stand it to be. Too much and its a burden to actually ride around because you see things wear.
I am done...now I must fix my lovely Tri Z!!

Very common indeed, my 85 R has a build date of July 1984 and it's definitely not an 84 or an 84 1/2.
