on atv tires what does the the first two numbers mean?
22-11x8
22=height of tire?
11= width of tire?
8=rim size
do i have them right?
im trying to figure out the tire highth because im trying to see if a bicycle speedo will work with the size tire of a my 250sx. the speedo works with different size tires i just need to figure the tire diameter into millimeters to program the right code into the speedo. i'd measure the tire but its at my buddys house.

I think thats how it is, 22=hieght, 11=width, 8=rim. If that speedo setup works let us know and post pics.

ok thanks
the only problem i see with this is mounting the sending magnet on the rim. because it has to be 1mm away from the sending unit to get a proper reading.

well i do plan on try to make it work. i already have the speedo ($10.00 from walmart). im thinking that i may be able to mount it to my front drum brake. because i have no front brakes at all, none of the hardware is there, just the drum. and if i do get it to work im gonna have a buddy fallow me down the road in a car to compare the mph and adjust as needed.

25.4 milimeters to the inch. So a 22" tire would be 558.8 milimeters.

well so far its not looking to good. i just cant figure out a way to mount them so they are both close enough to work. im gonna see what i can come up with tomarrow. if i cant figure it out, im just gonna say screw it. and search to find a honda speedo.
