Looking good 250rsteve! Just a heads up, that front brake line should be routed between the left fork leg & the front wheel.

Hey redrider thanks I knew that but I just didnt do it, I will reroute it ASAP. Good eye!! I guess after spending about 6-7hrs polishing the fork tubes and front wheel I was in a hurry to get it together. I appreciate all the compliments from eveyone. Any other suggestions let me know.

Steve, I can understand how that could easily happen. Afterall, everyone gets boltitbacktogetheritis every now & then. You're particularly susceptible to it after having everything powdercoated.

Hey scott, I'm the one that bought the shock from you. I live in Greenbrier, about 25 miles north of Nashville. That tecate of yours is awesome definitely as nice as mine. Give me a couple of weeks to finish it and I'll get back with ya.

Just had to look again. I haven't seen mine together in so long. I love the size of the T3 Shrouds!!! can you give us a picture from the back of the machine when you have a chance. The Pair of shrouds are so large they look like wings from the back.

I wanted to build it like I would have in 86 . Stock is awesome and if I wasnt going to ride it I would have made everything OE even the warning stickers. Hey Darius if you ever want to get rid of that awesome Z of yours let me know, then my collection will be complete.
Great Tecate Steve! It's nice to see some more green on this board.
Looks like you came up with a damn nice gas tank! :beer

Thanks Jeb, the tank was that nasty brown color but it has been painted with a flexible primer sealer underneath. Seems like it will hold up pretty well, not like a good OE green tank but you cant tell its been painted until you get close up.

Just a note, If ya ever wish to "FLY" on that thing, find a KX250 cylinder,, and make double shure the exhaust valves rotate easily in there bores. They tend to carbon up and get tight. This mod with stock carb, stock pipe won the 1987 New York State Championship in Green NY on board Bill Thomas's KXT250. Jetting varied as conditions change, but this set up was awsome over stock. In fact, the rings and pistons interchange so maintenance is the same. Trust me, It will blow you away!!Ours even had stock exhuast and still won the state championship in stock class. True STORY!!! Look it up. I am his brother/mechanic Tracy Thomas P.S. We were also running boyson reeds and spacer. Got torn down weekly as someone would front the cost and NEVER got caught. Any questions please ask as I was team mechanic for 3 years on a 1984 honda, 1985 tecate, and a 1986 Tecate, the most awesome 3 wheeler ever built! Oh, sorry Honda guys, the 250r did shift smoother as the Tecates were blowing past your smooth tranny.

nice T3, makes the rest of us hesitent to post pics of ours, lol
Squirtster, i was always under the impression that the cylinders were the same on kx and kxts?
On the 84/85 KXTs, the 83/84 KX250 cylinders were basically the same with different porting. Seems like even my 84/85 Tecate Kawasaki race-prep guide says to switch to a KX cylinder.
I've also heard through the years there's not any difference between 86/87 KXT and 85/86 KX-250 cylinders. I've got a JWR '86 hop-up article that states that with the new 86 trike, there is no longer the need to switch to the KX jug because they are the same.

Steve, I've pretty much been a Honda guy all my life, but your Kawi is sweet looking. I guess it's kind of like fine wine, we appreciate it more as we age, especially since we'll never see a new one again.

Yeah Baby!!! If that thing runs half as good as it LOOKS... Watch OUT! :w00t:
That whole ride definately gets a "TRIKE PORN ALERT" IMO. :naughty:

I just wanted to look at this beauty again. Mine is dangerously close to being complete (just waiting on the front and rear calipers). Alot more work to make this bike perfect than I ever imagined!!!!

Make sure to post some pics after you get it done orangecnty. With the money you spent on the shroud and headlight shell that trike should be INCREDIBLE!!!! I would like to build one al original but every time I think about what it cost for new or really good plastic I change my mind.
