how warm is it where you are.10w30 for temps of 0`f to 85`f ....use 10-40 for 0`f to 85`f and up....20-50 for 15`f to 85`f and up. so i would run a 10-40 seems to be a good all around weight.run a good brand like quaker state or pennzoil any thing like that but according to the manual a detergent oil is recomended.and NOT synthetic...your clutches will brobably slip like a bugger.

Use Valvoline, Pennzoil has been known to leave a silty build-up on car engines. But then agian trikes arnt cars.

Honda brand oils are supposed to keep your clutches from slipping but that is a load of crap. Just make sure it is fully synthetic and your good to go. for where you are I would use 10W-30.

I've got Honda semi-synthetic in my Big Red and it does fine. Shifts smoother, and seems to run a little cooler. Just be sure to buy it WITHOUT MOLY, they sell it both ways, the moly additive will cause your clutches to slip. It will tell you on the bottom of the label. I pull a trailer, drag logs and stumps with mine and it hasn't slipped yet. Several guys I know are using Shell Rotella synthetic and swear buy it, $12.99 a gallon at Wally World. I can't say that I would recommend it but time will tell, it may be fine.

Be careful with synthetics !!!!!!!!!!!!! If not stated for use with a wet clutch, DON'T USE THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The friction modifiers in there can make your clutch slip. You'll be fine with a none synthetic and one other DON'T..................ANY oil that is energy conserving = no can do. They are energy conserving because of modifiers too.

All these oils are great for your motor but not your clutch.
