I've got Honda's semi-synthetic without moly in mine right now and it seems to do fine. It shifts better and seems to run cooler than with straight dino oil. If you use a synthetic just make sure it doesn't have any anti-wear additives, they will make your clutch slip.

On bikes as old as ours it doesnt really matter unless you have a fresh rebuild. I love amsoil synthetic, but it cause leakes to start on older engines. As long as you use ATV oil for wet clutch applications you will be ok.
