7 years and not running.........that really hurts it $$ wise. Some pic's would be great. Does it kick over or is it weathered siezed from condensation?

Do you know the person? You could probably get it relativly cheap if you ask about it right. Tell him $50 or $100. What's the worst thing that can happen? Tell him you need it for a few parts that usually works. Especially if they don't know much about them.

you have to ask yourself how much its worth to you, example:

seat
plastics
motor rebuild
decals
handle bars
tires (they be dry rotted)
possibly rims
frame paint

so, all that, if you restore it to respectabel condition will cost you a hefty amount, it cost me 800 to make my 86 200X look almost stock (only difference was red maier rear fenders)

if the seat, rear plastics, and front fender are good, i say anywhere between 50 to 100 dollars

I always try to have the owner give me a price.

thanks guys.
i will ask him how much he wants.
but if he tells me to offer i will probably try $50 first then maybe work up to 100 max.
it would definitely need a rebuild unless you didnt care if it ran like cripe.
the decals are all faded, the paint sucks
with the wet weather and humidity around here im sure everything has a nice coat of rust.
the thing i really want it for is the rims, so if it is a 86-87 they will fit my 350.
never know i might get it going one day, but i am not ready to spend more than a couple hundred max right now.
i think i might be able to get it cheap because within the last couple years the guy got a new foreman, 400ex, and big chevy 2500. i dont think he is really mechanically inclined so i doubt he has any plans of restoring it.
i will update you guys if i get it or more information on it.

Turn me on to it if you decide against it. I can probably swap you some 350x wheels.

See what year it is and offer $100.
Is the motor locked up? What's missing?
Grab it and sort out the details later......
