It's the front motor mount bracket for 200S. Took all the paint off & clear coated it. I like how it looks but not sure how it will hold up. I figure no paint on, then none to come off.

I'll wait a few days till paint is good and set up (cured) then get it wet and put it outside.

What's your guess........rust or not?

:wondering Wonder what it cost to chrome plate small parts like this?

depends on how you took the old paint off, and how you prepped it

No, I said 200 S as in Sam . Good guess though.

I really don't think so as far as heat resistent goes. The mount doesn't get that hot. I think years ago I did one the same way and it held up fine but then again my memory isn't so tuned anymore and that's why I figured I'd ask.

Is that a question or a statement. I don't think the header pipe is that close to were you would need heat resistant paint. Would it?

Naaah, I don't think so....... Even if it doesn't work it's no big deal to paint them up. MX 600 might not even like it? We shall see.

Do you think he'll notice if we swap motors?... Seriously though unprotected metal takes no time at all to rust. My front sprocket never seen rain and it's startin to rust already. I would think some thompson's deck sealer should do the trick! :D

It is protected with 4 coats of clear but like said........not sure if that's sufficent? A few days I will know.

OH, and WELCOME SPRING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Your motor is black, his is unpainted, we will have to take the paint off yours and paint his. I think it will pass! :D

Heat resistant paint is not necessary. Your motor should not get hotter than 180- 250 degrees. But on the other hand I am not sure how the spraycan clearcoat will hold up never tried it.Good Luck!
