Does the stator have enought juice to run a 350x headlight on a 85 r? I'm kicking around the idea of running one or the 86 headlight, anyone know if the plastic is available still from honda?

I'm sure you can put it on an R. Service honda shows the 350x plastic still available. Part # 61301-HA5-000.

Stator should be fine. Stock R bulb is 55W, 350X bulbs are 35W. If you are worried, there are 25W bulbs available too.

Which plastic you looking for 350X or 86 R?

The bulbs will BLOW if you use the 350x bulbs on the 250r! Ask me how I know! LOL I was told that a banshee bulb would work fine but I never explored that aspect, just an FYI.

Bulbs should not just blow. Did the 250R that this happend on have a voltage regulator?

I just installed the 350x headlight system on the 85r and it smoked 2 sets of bulbs. The stock 250r headlight worked great and still working.

I wonder if the rectifier was bad, I was thinking about going with a 25 watt bulbs, The plastic I was after is the 86 R headlight plastic. I like that light better than the 85.

my bulbs blew too soon as i started it, but like the looks of 350x assm on an r!!

Well maybe I'll try a set of higher watt bulbs, I know on a 350x a while back I restored I forgot to plug in the regulator and toasted 2 new bulbs.
