Alright, I finnally got all my parts for my 82 rebuild. Now I have the special (and expensive) clutch locknut wrench from honda. I have the 30mm centrifugal clucth locknut removed, the weights removed now I just have to remove the manual clutch before I can split the case. What I need to know is is the clucth locknut reverse threaded or regular thread? Should I just use the impact or should I use a ratchet and pound on it with a mallet?
Thanks guys! :TrikesOwn

WHAT??? English please.
Any way, the clutch nut is standard right hand threads. I use a impact myself. I have never had a problem with them either. ;)
FYI, That costly tool from Honda is a waste IMO. I went to Napa and bought a 30mm socket for 1/2 the price of Honda's wrench. The socket gets used and abused, and after 12 years it still works like a champ!

ok, dont use a mallet, tighten to specs. with a torque wrench using a mallet can cause the wrench to slowly slip and rounding the edges of the lock nut to round which isnt good cause its a jerk to untighten 15+ pounds of torque with a rounded nut. using a impact wrench can sometimes misslead and not tighten down the nut as tight as it claims, i apologize howdy i was on my way to dinner, my bad, thats my reconditioned paragraph.

Alright, I'm talking about that nut on the manual clutch, not the centrifugal, I used a 30mm socket (that also fits GM axle nuts) for that. I'm talking about the other nut which requires the special tool (the one with the 4 prongs on the socket to remove the nut). So that nut is right hand threaded correct?

Alright I used my impact and got the clutch off! Now alls I gotta do is scrape gaskets, wait till the weather warms up, get out the pressure washer, wash case pieces, mask and paint, install new parts, bolt it all back together- into the big red and I'll have her running in time for spring!

Be carefull scraping gaskets on the aluminum parts. I got some spray on gasket remover, it desolves the old gasket. Is much safer on the aluminum.
