Anyone got any tips on changing the forks on a ATC 70? Is there any forks people have tried that just go straight on, with only a little modification?

I was thinking of putting Jingchen DX90 or Honda Dax forks on it, but I want to keep the front wheel if possible.

Also, has anyone fitted small car wheels to a ATC 70. As I have seen some on one in Japan (mini alloy wheels 10")?

The problem with putting another set of forks on a 70 is that no factory bike that small has a wide tire. In order to fit a wide tire you either need one of the hard to find kits that were made back in the day or have a new triple tree made and use Honda XR70 or similar forks. I have thought about doing something like this but since it sill doesn't have rear suspension I can't justify spending the $.

As for other wheel options you may be able to find some lawn mower tires that would fit. I plan on trying some out this summer.

Skippy - Are the forks you used, from a Honda CT70? As the CT70 is just the same as the DAX forks, that I was thinking of using. Have you got any pictures of the forks, on your ATC?

Did they go on OK? Did you have to do any modifications?

I was also thinking the forks from a yamaha big wheel 80 would be a nice conversion.
