Thank God!! After winning that auction the new Tecate plastics made it to their new home. When you win an auction and pay a decent amount of coin for something across the country you can get paranoid. He only had 9 feedback and hadn't sold in a while. He didn't send them out until 5 days after the auction ended and at the first 24 hours the tracking # he gave me came up as invalid.

My internal torture!!

1. Would he just not send them?? (whats one negative feedback). If he was a crook he could also tell the 15 people that asked him to end the auction early that I didnt pay and tell them to send him money to. WOW that could be like several thousand dollars.
2. Would they be as described (NEW OEM )doesnt mean perfect.
3. Would some monster at UPS throw a heavy box on them and crush them??
4. Would they be lost.
5. If UPS leaves them when I'm not home would someone take the box??

Now the unknown killer. I saw this auction when it first came up. I feared the worst --tons of people would contact him to end the auction early and i would never get a shot at them. I would be willing to spend big money (as I proved) I just wanted a chance to bid. So I immediately emailed him and said IF you are one of those guys who ends early let me know and I will make an offer. Or if you let it run GREAT. So he emailed me back and I offered 150.00 for the new right shroud and headlight cover. He said you have a deal :Bounce . Well within the hour bids started rolling in and offers were made so he decided to let it run. But my fear was realized!!! if i hadn't taken that step (which was the first time I've ever done that and i hated it, other people would have done it and they did in large Numbers.) My dream parts would have disapearred from the radar for ever. It turned out I got my shot.

Well its over and I'm at peace. He turned out to be a great and honest guy and he did what he said he was going to do. He didn't charge any shipping on top of the $$$ I paid. They are perfect :w00t: The right shroud was all taped up in the original factory packaging (look at the shine on that baby :D ) Well the T3 frame is being dropped back off at the powder coater today to be redone this weekend because the silver he did came out way to light (i'm looking for something more factory color) we found it and it should be done this weekend. Estimated project completion 2-3 weeks. Stayed tuned this bike is going to be UNREAL!!

Awsome...

Just goes to show, if you want it bad enough, you can get it.

It's a shame to have to pay such prices for simple plastics.. but you gotta do what you gotta do !

can't wait to see that trike done !!

I see you have an extra set of shrouds, any possibility you want to part with them?

Right now I'm leaning towards keeping the entire set of used plastic for when I take this beast on some short easy rides. I'll swap it all out for the day or if I find another T3 project to make a regular riding bike i know I would regret selling the plastics. Things can change but thats the plan for the day.
