i just got a Mikuni 38mm round slide carb..I was pondering trying to use it on my R..Would it work? or would it be a waste of time...? Im running a stock 85 carb now...Thnks!!

it wouldhelp you, but you might as well save up some cash and get a flat slide 38mm....the flat slides have all kinds of modern technology in them now, especially the air strykers, whereas the round slides are old school, and nowhere near as snappy as the flat slides, not to mention ive heard the 36mm pwk carbs out-flow the 38mm round slide mikuni's in a snowmobiling mag somewhere....i went from my 85 R's stock carb to a 38mm PWK airstryker and let me tell you what, it is one of the best mods i have done to my motor.....i wouldnt waste my time putting the round slide on....

I agree, stick with the Keihin's and use the Mikuni for a paperweight.

I'm runn'n the exact one you're talk'n about, works GREAT! & until I splurge and get the 38 stryker, it will do. :beer

where could i get my hands on a 38 stryker for my 86 250r atc? and is it still a huge power increase even if every thing else is stock? and if you get a bigger carb do i have to get a bigger airboot or any thing like that

Hey it will work if your throttle cable is long enough i have the same thing mikuni is a good card just not a stock one for honda.. when you finish this application let me know how it turns out!!! by the way Hold on!!!!!

BY the way i had too do some mods too make it fit in the intake boot, i shaved the rubber with an exacto knife till it fit then clamped it.

well, i was going to junk it but i guess ill slap it on and try it out...Thanks for the help guys....Ill let you know how it turns out!

Junk it!!?!? Ya mean put it on ebay, they go for over $50 @ least. :beer
