Hi everyone!
Just joined the forum, and I'm hoping to get some help.
Where does the metal bracket in the picture mount? Does it go on top of the plastic in between the plastic and the seat pan? Or does it go under the plastic in between the plastic and the seat mounting bracket?
Thanks for your help!!!

Based on my parts list, it goes underneith the plastic. In other words, the plastic is between the bracket and the seat.

Bike Bandit has a schematic that shows it under the plastic also, but it just doesn't seem to belong there.
Thanks for your help!!
Hopefully, someone that has one or has restored one will chime in.
Thanks!!!

I just went out in the gurage and looked at my 84 70. I went back and looked at my parts book. I think the schematics are screwed up. The page with the seat also has the part that goes under the fender, between the fender and the frame. The page with the fender has that plate. Without taking my fender and seat competly apart, I now think the plate goes on top of the fender, between the seat and the plastic, and the bigger part that goes between the fender and the frame goes on the bottom.

Im pretty sure mines on top of the plastic,if u tighten the bolts down on the bare plastic it could maybe crack it.

It just doesn't seem right on the top or the bottom.
Anyone else with a 70 able to take a look at how this plate is installed?
Thanks!!

It goes, seat, bracket, fenders. So it is inbetween the seat and fenders. You dont have that side picted but there should be 4 bolts? These actually hold the fenders down onto frame. Basically insert this into four holes you see on the pict you posted, then install your seat. You should have a second bracket doing almost same thing, only it is towards front. And it actually goes under fenders after seat is installed. The seat itsself will have bolts to attach this guy, after his bolts are fed through plastic hole. There are washers, use them, they save the plastic from over torquing. Locknuts are recommended if it doesnt already have them. Once seat is installed it all goes on frame.
P>S sorry serious blonde moment, just relooked at pict but it is back fender four holes not front. :o
