hay guys,
in the local trader there is a 85 triz conversion selling for $3200(approx$2400USD). ive rang him and he didnt even know it was a kit, so i told him the story. anyway, i was or still am looking for a blaster, but this is $2000 cheaper and a better engine. my question is are there any flaws with these kits, and is there anything to watch out for. also, can you but upgrades for them...i.e. suspension and do the Z perf parts still work.
thanks alot for your time and help

edit...the price has dropped to $2500 aud. it has new rear tires, fresh top end and new clutch.
PROBLEM: what could be cause this machine to keep blowing head gaskets. he has had the head and cylinder mating surfaces checked for imperfection and has gone through the proper torqueing procedure on head bolts.
your help is greatly appreicated and needed.

What is the torque of the bolts after the gasket blows? Maybe they are loosening up.
I think the one your looking at has a different conversion kit than TimSr's but he changed everything but the frame. I doubt any of that would be necessary for a trail bike though. He uses his for MX.

the guy told me he torqued them down, went for a ride came back and torqued em down again.
Did you get a chance to read the old 3&4 wheel action conversion article I posted?

if the head has been checked for warpage and if he has been torqing the head down, check the piston to head clearence, if it is smaller than .75mm then the chances are the head has been shaved too much and is blowing headgaskets......but im leaning towads the surfacesbeing warped....what is the compression on it when he dose a test cold?....
