Well I just ordered a new 2004 400Ex for my wife. Well now one of the big outings for the summer will be to the sand in Oklahoma (first time for me). So now it is time for me to get the ol' 86' 200X ready. I am planning on a hopping up my X a little, new web cam and maybe a head port. I was wondering if there is a real difference in paddles or not. Right now I have holeshot (20/11/9s) and was wondering if I should get a smaller size to keep the power up or if it will pull a 20 or 22 paddles. This is my first time in the sand and it may be the last so I don't want the most $$$ tire just one to help me out. Besides the ol' X might have trouble pulling a great tire. I need some expert suggestions. By the way do the rims on my X fit a 400EX too?

Thanks

Don't most Honda's use the 4/110 bolt pattern?

If your going down to Little Sahara, I suggest waiting to buy your tires. Try the ones you have, and if your not happy, try Jims Sand Toys right outside of Waynoka. He always has a huge pile of new tires, and most of the time has a good selection of used tires. Plus, if this is gonna be your only trip to the dunes, you can sell them back to him when your trip is over.

Thats actually what my buddies from Texas we are going with told me. I just didn't want to get there and find they were $$ when I could have got some cheap mail order or local. It may be my only trip but I have heard they work in the snow so I may keep them. I have rode on the river and the sand works the bike alot with the tires it has.

Jims prices will be the same, as if you were to order a set and have them shipped. Ive seen used, on rims for as low as $100. His new prices all differ. Call him at that number I posted, and ask what he has in stock, and prices. If you think its to high, then order some now... easy as that.
