Has anyone made a seat/cushion for the rear rack found on big reds.. I have a rear rack (on my 200m minus the center piece) and was wanting to make a seat with cusion for more room when carrying a passenger... I'm just looking for some ideas of how best to setup one, that will allow for easy removal/access to rear trunk... thanks.. fred

We put a cushion on the trunk lid of the 200E, which is slightly different to the 250es's truck lid, but if you just cut a peice of plywood the right size and bring it to an apolstory shop they should be able to help you out. If you have a 200e then it will work fine because the lid upens to the side.

I have one on my 200m, all you need to do is cut a piece of plywood, pickup a chunk of foam. Pickup a piece of vinyl at Walmart, and put it together with some staples. I also used conduit straps from the hardware to fasten it to the rack.

I take an old pillow and some bungee cords with the center piece taken off so I can carry a passenger, works better on bumps, plus its not permanent.

fhportal,

I used a seat of one of those exercise machines, I think its called a rowing machine.
You can pick up the exercisers at thrift stores for like $5 or at the city dupm quite regulary.
I mounted the seat with those little "C" shaped clips you mount to the wall and hang brooms and mops on (they snap in & out).
The "seat" just clips on and works great, clips off when not needed. It mounts right on the portion of the rack you flip up to get in the trunk on a 84' Big Red. So the trunk isnt obstructed by it.

Here's a pic with it on my wifes 84' 200es.

Thanks for the ideas folks... I had never thought about using the broom hangers to hold on the seat... that's a great idea...
