85 200x forks on a 83 250r

I seen a kit for a 85 250r to switch to a 85 200x forks with the use of spacers It's supposed to be 15 lbs lighter without front brake. Has anyone ever heard of this. How is handling effected. I have an 83 r are 85 forks interchangeable with mine. Any ideas would be great, thanks!

why would u do that...wow, u shave some weight, but arent R forks better than the X.

I could understand doing this swap on an 85R, if your only drag racing the trike. Less weight is great! I could also understand doing the swap on your early R, if your wanting to go to the narrow front tire and good brakes. Probably won't see any difference in fork performance, though.
