Hey guys,
Maybe some of you can help me with this. Got an old 125 honda trike with the 4 speed dual range transmission. Trouble is it wants to jump out of gear while just putting around. It doesnt grind or slip and will go ahead when I click it back in gear. Just seems to be jumping back into neutral each time. Any ideas? Thanks........ :? :?

If it is a 84 or 85 model than it sounds to me like the stopper pawl is broke. To check it you need to remove the right side ( Clutch ) cover. This is a common problem. If you need pictures let me know.

Howdy, in case you didn't get my e-mail, the trike is an '84 atc125m.
The problem is that sometimes you put it into gear. You feel the klunk from the transmission but when you gas it, it doesn't move.
Other times you are just putting around on a low gear and all of a sudden the bike is out of gear, not in neutral but just not engagement.
I also have a problem with the shifter going beyond 1 and 4, it seems like you could shift beyond the gears avaliable. The bike will not go any faster but the shift indicator will continue to spin neutral or beyond 4 gear.
Thanks,
Robert
