Here's the problem:
When I kick start it the motor it "kicks me back" through the kick starter!!
Its acting like the spark is getting to the plug early and forcing the motor to spin backwards. So I checked the timing marks and the flywheel key all fine(the stator and flywheel are brand new rickey stator) Installed a new spark plug. I called Rickey Stator and they said it could be the CDI box so I replaced that today. Drained out the gas from the carb filled with new and she fired right up 2 kicks after sitting all winter. It ran good no power problems nothing. So I thought problem solved, right, Wrong!! After warming it up I then shut it off and tried to start it again and first kick bam "kicks me back"

Anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this? Ever heard of this before? I've heard stories of 2-strokes running backwards, but when this does start it runs forward!
I run half pump gas and half race as per Trinity Racing--shaved the head. Should I add more race gas to the mix to increase the octane?? I'm running out of ideas any help will be appreciated!! Thanks

Oh ya, I forgot, I also checked the the reeds and they are in great shape only 5-10 ride on them all bolts are tight and the intake boot is brand new from Kawasaki!

I am beginning to think this is a common thing on the early tecates. I have broken three kickers myself and finally opted for a kx kicker which has yet to break. I have found that short kicking it works the best to stop kick back (rather than a full kick from the top). I really dont think that you will find a solution to this problem but if you do, please pass it on.

I think that the flywheel bolt is loose or the stator plate/timing needs to be adjusted slightly.

I had and still have the exact same problem with my Tecate. She has a mean kick and if your wearing sneakers I won't let you kick it. I hurt both my feet by having it kick back. Solution: thick soled MX boots. lol

tecate's always had a tendency to kick back on you if you held the lever down too long.
