I got it rolling yesterday and snapped off a few pics. The only thing Im waiting on is the cylinder to get back from the polisher. There are still a few loose ends I gotta tie up, like the foot pegs, build a wheelie bar, and have plans on airbrushing the black plastic I had on it, but also want to find a frame so I can match it to the plastic. (I dont wanna ruin this frame, its in great shape) Ive also gotta figure out what Im gonna do for a pipe. Either use the drag one I have now (built for a 370R, so I dont think it will be tuned that well to this one) or take it to a guy I know and build and test dozens until we get one on the dyno that has the power I want. For now I think Ill just slap on the PSI hybrid I have, because it leaks the least out of the ones I have.. lol
Also I snapped a pic of the under the airbox gas tank on this one. This was hand made, but only holds barley a gallon.
Look over the pics close.. lots of little details the normal non Z riding person wont catch at first :)

WoW now that is one nice looking Z. The chrome is a nice addition, makes it look like it came off a show room.

And here is what is in store for next year. This is how I found it at the junk yard. Plans for it are to rebuild the motor, and soup it up a little bit here and there. No polishing on this one though, only 4 or 5 cans of BBQ flat black are the plans.. :)
Oh, and not to mention it will have 3 tires instead of 2. :)

That is an awesome and beautiful Z chainsaw. Just awesome.
Do you think it would have been possible to use some of that space by the tongue of the seat for the fuel tank? Once you take out the stock airbox...there is some room there.
Anyways I just the most gorgeous Z on here man...just awesome!!

Thanks for the compliments guys.
About more room for the tank. If a guy took his time, and really took advantage of every nook and cranny, an under the airbox aluminum tank might hold enough gas for a half way normal riding bike. It still wouldnt hold much more then a gallon and a half though. If a guy got crazy and were to mold a lot around the frame itself there is more space there.
the tank that Louis has on his 86 would be the way to go. Just mold the top of it, to look like the airbox cover. You could gain a lot of room by doing it that way.
Mine only runs 300 feet at a time, so a huge gas tank isnt my concern.. its weight. :)

Its dusty cause I spent all day Saturday re-arranging the storage shed. I gotta get some covers for them also, cause that black is hard enough to keep clean looking.

Here is one pic, and a link to the rest (and the specs).. Got the cylinder back this morning, and put it back together. Now if the weather stays nice this week, the girl will get her heart put back in.

I had the clutch cover out in the sun, and it was bright. Sun hasnt shown all day so I havent been able to see the gleaming whole thing yet.. lol
The engine turning looked cool on the cylinder, but that huge head made things look really funny. We though about turning the head to, but that would be to much I thought. Instead I etched some flames on either side of the head, and it breaks it up nice. They are hard to see unless you get it out in the sun.
Thanks for the compliments.

That is the coolest engine I've ever seen before. Can you get a close up of the etching and the turning?

Hey Chainsaw, could you give us more info on the YZ? It is a YZ 490 isn't it? How long is the swinger?

Here is more info on the motor, what it was, is, and a combination of
http://geocities.com/midwesttrikers/bigbore
The swinger is an aluminum +6. Ive gotta build a drag bar here soon, because that +6 isnt gonna keep the front end down, with a set of 12 or 13 paddle superbuffs on back. Anything else you wanna know, just ask :)

Oh, I meant the dirtbike. I am thinking of getting a big bore dirtbike to drag. Could you give me some info on it? How long is the swinger, what bike it is, oh, are you gonna run plastics on it?
CHAINSAW

that bike is a 1982 CR480. I dont know anything about it, because I found it at the junk yard as you see it there. I havent tore into it yet, to see what kinda stuff the motors needs, but will once I get the 85 dragster done. That swinger on it, is the stock, then some aftermarket +13 extensions. The chain guard was all hand made by someone.
My plans are to add either a trike tire up front, along with 250R forks. I havent decided on a year yet, but leaning towards 85-86. Plans are to put the R front fender on, but probably wont run a back one. This machine is going to be flat black from head to toe.... nothing fancy or shiney.. just ugly and MEAN! :)
