I am having a little bit of a dilema...I am trying to get my ATC 200 running right as many of you know from the numerous questions I have asked over the past while. Everyone here who has responded to my posts have been a great help...I probably wouldn't have gotten this far without you so thanks. For this reason I am again asking your opinion on my next step.
My 200 is not running right at start up in that it will not idle cold unless I sit there on the throttle (it also 'pops' throught the exhaust when it's cold). It starts great and runs great when warm. After playing with any adjustment I could think of I still have the same problem and I am almost convinced it is a valve problem. Heres the dilema...when I bought the trike I recieved two non running engines, on of wich is now running. I know nothing about lapping valves nor do I have the tools required and I really don't have lots of money to spend on this trike but I do have another part of the engine head with different valves on it. What I am thinking is to take this peice and exchange it onto the running motor. Now this is alot of work and it could be all for nothing if I am wrong or if the valves on the new unit are the same or worse and like I said the trike runs right now. What would you do? Would you try to swap them or do you have any other ideas? Your opinions are appriciated...thanks.
Mark.
