What's the difference between a 13 tooth and 14 tooth front sprocket,I have a 14 tooth now ,wiil it make a big difference if i go to a 13 tooth front sprocket.It's for a 84 honda 70 ATC and i have a 38 tooth rear sprocket,whitch one should i use or it does not matter

The 14 tooth theroticaly should give you better acceleration but you will lose some top speed, where as the 13 tooth theroticaly will give you slower acceleration but an increase in top speed.

smaller front sprocket gives more power less speed, larger sprocket gives you less power more speed.

My trike came stock with an 11 tooth. I went to a 12 tooth thinking it would give more top speed. Theoretically it should. It was actually SLOWER in the top end because the engine could not get up into it's peak power range quick enough. Of course it was also slower on take off too.
The only time it actually worked was when I took it down a road up north for about 2 miles at wide open throttle before it would top out.

So, unless you have a motor built that makes a LOT more power (not just little bolt ons, I mean things like port work, cam work, etc.) in the mid range and upper RPM. I think it will actually go slower.

oops, thats sad too, i was messin aaround with my lego gears and buildine a huge reduction, anways thanks for the correction

and buy spacely space sprockets. thoses cogswell cogs are junk!
