My carb is leaking out the overflow and I just want to play in the snow we just got so my question is will it get too much gas and drown or should I be alright?

It won't hurt anything just shut off gas right away when you shut off engine. If you want to go riding put some fuel injection cleaner in the gas tank, It will probably clean float hinge enough that it will pivot more freely and and lift shutting of fuel. Besides cleaning carb and passages out better. Unless you had carb apart and bent float, it is more than likely just a sticky hinge giving you the problem. I'd double the normal recommended rate to give it a good cleaning, after one tank I bet it doesn't leak anymore. Let us know if it works.

When you turn the engine off, it will probably flood the carb and make for a hard start !

Are you asking about riding it with gas dripping out the overflow, or are you asking about plugging the overflow tube to ride it?

Even if you plug the over flow, you will flood the engine when at idle. Just remove the carb, clean, put back on and ride. You most likely have a sticking float guide. A little metal cleaner on a q-tip and you will be good. This is only if you have the over flow problem after the machine sits awhile. If could be a bad float or improper adjustment of the float.

mine did leak 100% of the time throught the overflow. I cleaned the carb twice and adjusted the floata bit. It still leaked usualy when the engine wasnt running. I always shoved a rag under it when i was done riding so it wouldnt leak. ( broken petcock) I just put fuel injector cleaner in ill see how that works

ok what I was asking was can I ride it with the over flow plugged. Now the one reason I wanted to do this was because I have had it apart twice and clean the living piss out of it and it still leaks. Thanks for the tips.

Well if it's clean, sounds like you should adjust your float

either the float needs to be adjusted or you need a new needle/seat....

I put some injector cleaner in it and it works exelent now. Before after about ten minuets I would have to continuously give it gas otherwise it would die due to flooding, but now it doesnt seem to do that. I havent taken the screw out of my overflow due to the fact that its dark out but I think its running better.
Also if I had to in the future how would I adjust the float? I took the float and the small metal cyclinder under the back of the foat out, cleaned them and put them back.

I had to replace the needle and seat to make my carb stop leaking.

Which part is the needle and seat?
