i read a while back about someone wondering about putting a 200x top end on, so if you can what would it take, what would be some adjustments, and what would be the performance increase???

The 200x top end will bolt right on to the 200e. The differences are the piston (higher compression), cam (More top end power), cooling fins (bigger) and no decompression lever (unless you use the 200e cam cover). That is all I can think of now. Basically all you would need is the piston and cam if you are just looking for a performance increase and your top end is good.

what about just a cam, getting a different piston would require boring right??

btw i put the complete top end of the 200x on mine...if you go to ebay you can buy a 200x cylinder and piston for cheap...there on there all the time..that way you can still have your 200e cylinder and piston as backup if something happens...you will defintly feel a difference in power..alot more of it..if you get the cam also your gonna have more speed..not much but some..cuase youll have more rpm's and the pisotn helps with that as it has higher compression...youll have more torque and top end..thats a good combo...also..if you are going to be putting in a 12:1 piston you may want to put the 200e cam cover back on instead of the x cover..that way you can still have the decompression lever so your arm wont be hurtin after you try pullstarting it and.or the starter will last longer..just a suggestion

You can replace just the cam if you want. The piston is the same bore size so it would only need to be bored if your cylinder needs it now.

i dont believe it does, i havent examined it. havent found a need to rip it apart. would the cam cause more wear on the motor though, i want this machine to last without needing too much maintenance.

Just replacing the cam wouldn't require any more maintenance than what is already needed.
