Are head and base gaskets still available for the 300 kit?

I had Todd "photocopy" the gaskets from his brand new 300R kit, so we at least got a templete for a gasket.

After doing sme research, it appears the head gasket is the same on the Odessey It has seven bolts like the 300R kit and is made for a cylinder that is big enough for the 80mm bore.

Does it use the oem base gasket? well the same one as the 250 cylinder.? And intakes? do they use the stock intake?

The intake gasket appears the same size from what I can tell. I think the 250R base gasket will work since it mounts the the factory bottom end, but not sure on this. Unable to find Honda part number for 300R base gasket to find out.

Now if I can just find a piston for the 300R kit I can start on mine.

i just got a 300 kit from someone that came with 3 gaskets, I believe they are still in the package too, so i can check to see if their is a part number of any sort that can be cross-referenced, i'll let you know tonight.

If you can give me the numbers from all the top-end gaskets I will try to cross-reference them all.

If you guys cant track down gaskets, I know most auto shops/garages can make gaskets. G&R auto here can cut copper gaskets, So I would imagine any place can, You just have to have a template (paper...that scan would work). For the base gasket you can just get a roll of gasket paper and cut your own with a razor blade.

The base gasket is still available from Service Honda. Part # 12191-961-306. The head gasket is discontinued but should be easy to make Since it is just a sheet of copper. The other gaskets are all the same as the 250r parts.

bike bandit even shows 300r piston as being available, not the std size, but overbores.

you're right ejc....lots of places still show them from when they WERE available. I tried shops around here, that referred me to shops across sees, that referred me practically across the world and nobody makes them. lol.

I have a copper head gasket. If you need measurements to get one made. There's a guy in washington st. that will make a piston for the 300r. patriotracing.

Well I saw in a previous post in this thread that an Odyssey head gasket might work so I bought a 85 350 gasket to compare. The Odyssey gasket is the 3 piece metal like the newer Honda gaskets, The 7 bolt holes line up perfectly but the bore is just slightly bigger. Do you think it will work? Here's a couple of pics. The copper gasket on the left is the factory 300R gasket. The second pic shows the bore difference with the Odyssey gasket on top of the 300R one. The part # of the Odyssey gasket is 12254-VM0-013 and my local dealer had it in stock.
