i just got my new clutch and it says to soak it in drive case oil before installation what does that mean

It means soak all clutch plates in whatever oil you use in your transmission before installing as it would ruin them to install dry. Just dip them in this oil before you install them all toghether to put in your trike.
YOU MUST put them in a tub of 10w-40w( or whitch ever oil you use) and let them soak for an hour before you install them, simply dipping them in the oil wont do crap all

I've had no patience and dipped them in oil, as long as the face was wet and by the time it was put all put together they soaked in enough oil. Its only the face that needs lubrication and by the time they actually start to wear, the oil from transmission will have plenty of time to soak in to the last half.

I usually soak them in oil overnight in a plastic Folgers coffee can.

Me to, but I'm a Maxwell House kinda guy :D Never had a problem with clutches after soaking them overnight either.
