This might really seem stupid to some but if you don't tie the knot right on a pull starter pulley it can pull right out. You can use this on the handle too. Just might save you some day from having it pull out miles out on the trail. A little detail that's good to know!
After tieing, burn the end (light it up!) a bit. This melts the rope and it will never fray.
If under 16 you must have parent supervision lighting the rope. :D
