look in a dennis kirk catalog and it will tell you how many links you need, i am pretty sure you need the 520 size

I don't use anything but D.I.D. and I don't recommend anyone else to either but that's me.

X-rings are supposedly better than O-ring (less friction) but both are excellent. You can get either from rockymountainatv.com for pretty reasonable prices.

Not for the 1982 R I don't. I'm sure someone here will chime in with the answer though.

The file is getting closer. Still a bit too big. Might have to make it a 2 parter or something.

i run an 83R with a DID o-ring chain. I too, wouldnt reccomened anything else....IDK how much HP i put out, but its way more then a stock R does, and this chain handles it fine..

520-84 link. I bought the DID X-Ring ATV chain. The links are gold in color... thought it was an added touch!

The standard D.I.D. motocross X-ring is also gold. Not just the ATV one. Not sure what the difference is exactly but the standard motocross one is what I have on my R. I know the ATV chain is harder to find in stock and usually a few bucks cheaper.

Standard screwdriver, and maybe a pair of vice grips/plyers.

Yep... that's the chain I'm talking about.
