I use PJ1, and Amsoil. I try and get the "No Sling" stuff if possible. I lube before and after every ride.

I use 80W90 gear lube. You know, the stuff you put in the rear end of a car. It's probably the wrong thing to use, but it's cheap and I've never had a problem.

Maxima chain wax. I run only o-ring chains. An o-ring chain is permanently sealed and lubricated. It only requires a coating to protect the seals. I ride in coal silt, and you don't want to use anything that stays wet or tacky (such as gear oil), as it will hold dirt and contribute to premature chain wear.

I haven't used anything for years and have found that it doesn't make much difference in chain wear. I only put on a little WD-40 after washing to displace water.

Not so! Some chain lubes are way too tacky for dirt riding and actually make the dirt cling to it........and that's the bottom line!

I have found Honda that goes on clear & Belray super clean that goes on a white-gray color (a few mentioned already) are the best that I have ever tried. DO NOT get the Belray wax type!! Thats the worst ever as far as I'm concerned. Probably any of the "wax" ones attract the dirt.

I got the other type belray by mistake one time.I wouldn't even give that stuff away! It was that bad.

true, some do collect dirt, but after a good ride the chain needs to be relubed and usually has dirt on it anyways, so after it gets pressure washed i always relube it....i use white lithium chain and cable lube, i have never had a problem with it on my renthal o-ring chain and i have had it for 2 years now...
