I have a ton of black sludge all over my chain. Some seal somewhere is bad.

I am thinking its the seal behind the countershaft sproket. I may also have a leak i the seal behind the shift arm.

I have been trying to find the OEM part for the seal behind the countershaft sproket....

can anyone find this for me and post the schematic.

Thanks again guys!!

Enjoy the pic!!

uhhh.. is this a help thread or a picture thread? But about the question you asked.. The best way to tell is to take your front sprocket and chain off.. Clean off the seals real good with a rag, start the motor up, let it idle for a bit, shift through a couple gears to get the oil through everything (sprocket shaft), and then look for the seal that is oily.

if its the shift shaft seal, it will drip right on the ground, not on your chain, and it will do it all the time. The countershaft seal will oil the chain, and tends to do so only when its moving because the oil level doesnt go that high. There are no other possibilities.

Go to bikebandit.com and look up the schematic, and order it right from there. Its not hard to do. Its really not necessary for somebody to download it a repost it here.

Got it...thanks guys.

I am planning on re-building the motor in April or May so that will be on the list of to-do.

FYI....I did hook up a manual tank with gas to my carb. On an empty float bowl the Z started right up and ran perfectly. None of the sputtering symptons that occured with the fuel pump running.

I am getting a pump from a member here so I'll inspect the lines and the see how it works.

Thanks again!! Tim Sr. you are great man...I was looking for that seal all morning!!
