What is this bar on this R swing arm??

What is this "rod" or "bar" on the left side of this swing arm?? I have the same swing arm on my r (1983), but i dont have this bar thing on the left..WHAT IS IT?? :wondering :wondering :wondering

It keeps the rear brake caliper stable. Only on the 83 and 84 Rs

Yup, thats exactly what it is. How is your other caliper held on if it doesn't have one of those? weird.

cheese is also a good caliper holder if you ride in muddy or wet conditions..

I must have a "custom" Caliper than. I bet it is because there is a slightly discolored weld holding on a mounting bracket.....It looks stock yet trick on mine...Guess i gotta call the guy i bought it from and see why he removed it. IU have also noticed that the caliper is slightly loose...kinda wiggles i guess
