250SX has problems starting....HELP!

My 250SX has a lot of problems with starting. Used to start with one to two kicks. Now it takes 25+. Anyone know what might be the problem?

Once started and warmed up does it restart fine then? How many approximate hours are on it?

make sure the petcock is letting fuel out by pulling off the hose while the petcock is in the on position.

My one has this problem because for one it will be cold out, and two it has very litle compression. I would say take it inside over night, turn the fuel off, the next day turn it on, give it two or three kicks with the choke off, then try it with the choke on. This really helps mine.
