Yeah thats right, I got me a complete(minus some minor cosmetic stuff) big red 85 for 50$. It has compression and has some super nice tires on it. I also got me an extra rack with atleast one side in ok condition. I just hope I can get it running. This will be my beater for the woods/trails. Yet another trike going to be brought back from the dead! :w00t:

I got an 83 big red for $25 all plastic good, tires good. Didn't run when I got it but I redid carb and it runs good. Wouldn't move so I tore into the centrifgal clutch cleaned it and it goes. Needed headlight and rear rack. Gas tank rust free. Seat was perfect till my son kneeled on it when it was froze and it cracked. Needs a muffler, has one rigged right now. Still need rear rack, has one from 84 trx on it now and it is slightly wider than original. Son saw it sitting behind a guys house and told me about it and bugged me to inquire about it so I did. He had it about a year and had it given to him by a friend who didn't want his kid riding it because the kid flipped it over backwards. He was going to use motor for go kart but decided he had enough projects so he said if you want it you can have it for $25. So needless to say I jumped on it. If it hadn't been stored outdoors for a year and been used by a kid I'd swear it was like new paint and plastic wise. Still need front rack and forks are slightly bent too. All & all not bad for $25. All of my projects have been had for good deals. 1986 125M free, replaced fuse and ran flawlessly alot of cosmetic work but she's almost done. Had to travel 10 hours round trip so I guess not quite free but well worth it. 1984 TRX200 free needs alot of work but is complete including plastics which are cracked and repaired but none missing. Going to be the beater. 1985 200S first trike and what got me into this mess, lol, $50. Rebuilt carb and runs good. Needed alot of cosmetics but well on it's way. 1984 YTM225DX $200 needs cylinder sleeve and rear swing arm bearings but came complete. Still in the planning stages. Keep your eyes open and your ears peeled. Mention your interest in trikes to co workers or people you meet and once in a while someone will say, " i know where theres a trike for sale or sitting" and you may end up with a good deal too. As the matter of fact I know where, what appears to be a 250SX sit's and I will be inquireing about it soon. :D

Alright here is the story.
I work for the Dept of Defense, and one of my Petty Officers had a buddy with a 185s. He needed an exhaust flang and asked me, since he knows I have tons of trikes. Then his buddy realized that this guy he used to deal with had tons of OEM parts for ATC's and bikes. He went out there to find the place vacant. He called and called and finally got in touch with his uncle. He found out that the owner of the shops and parts was in jail for killing his girlfriend. They needed to clear out his property with all the junk to sell the place. So, I was told about this place and got really excited. I wasnt able to get out there early enough to buy the LOT of parts. So I was able to find a few things. He said anything out there with a frame was 50$ This dude has tons and tons of street bikes if anyone is interested. I might go out there and pick up another trike or 2. Most of the trikes left are just rolling chasis(mostly 200s, 185s, 250es). There was a 125m complete that I might snag, but it looked rough. As for all the OEM parts, this other guy bought the LOT of them, but I do have his number and will see about snaging those parts. (since he said he was getting outof the ATV part, he just wanted the street bike parts)

that has to be one of the coolest story ive ever heard. Man I would go and pick the 125m and up and keep looking for more buried under some other bike. You never know what you might find.

No kidding! One mans trash is another man's treasure for sure, I'm still amazed that you got it for $50! I've bought 3 cd's for more than that before!
