Yamaha Tri-Z Piston ExChange

I am interested in knowing whether certain year YZ250 Pistons may fit into a Tri Z. Going out on a longshot here: Maybe Quadracers?

Yes they will fit however you need to use a YZ sleeve as well tto get them to run right!

What years are we talking about, jero? The Watercooled ones ofcourse...of any year?

Any year should work, but you need to check the overall diameter of the sleeves and choose one that is the same as TRI-Z sleeves or you have to do some machine work to the actual cylinder and that probrably isn't a good idea any way!

If you use a YZ sleeve you will also have to do some port matching!

Actually if your gonna try to keep one running over the long haul its a pretty good idea to start using YZ parts, there a little easier to come by!!!
