Weird brackets off a 250SX, what are they?

These two brackets came off the back of the 250SX I picked up, bolted with the grab bar bolts. I was thinking that they are just a redneck contraption to mount a rack to, Just want to confirm this before I throw them in the scrap box for the junkyard.

I think they are for the rear rack.

Hey Jared,
Those are indeed for mounting a rear rack on the SX. You cut holes in the plastic on each side. Those bolt where the grab bar bolts onto and then the rack bolts onto it. Here is one mounted to my old SX.
